Inquilinous species. Main hosts in Europe: Bombus ruderatus (Fabricius) (that does not exist in Turkey) and Bombus argillaceus (Scopoli) (Rasmont, 1988). B. maxillosus is the second most abundant cuckoo-bumblebee in Turkey. Its distribution overlap quite good with those of its potential Turkish host, B. argillaceus. Altitude (from Rasmont & Flagothier, 1996): 900-2875m (48 specimens), with 80% between 900 and 1950m. Foraging plants are (original data): Nepeta racemosa (5 observations), Anchusa leptophylla (3), Acantholimon glumaceum (1), Astragalus aureus (1), Centaurea glastifolia (1), Echium angustifolium (1), Galega officinalis (1), Jurinella moschus (1), Vaccinium myrtillus (1), Vicia cracca (1).


Espèce inquiline. Hôtes principaux en Europe : Bombus ruderatus (Fabricius) (n'existe pas en Turquie) et Bombus argillaceus (Scopoli) (Rasmont, 1988). B. maxillosus est le deuxième psithyre le plus fréquent en Turquie. Sa distribution est compatible avec celle de son hôte potentiel, B. argillaceus. Altitude (d'après Rasmont & Flagothier, 1996): 900-2875m (48 spécimens), avec 80% entre 900 et 1950m. Plantes butinées (données originales): Nepeta racemosa (5 observations), Anchusa leptophylla (3), Acantholimon glumaceum (1), Astragalus aureus (1), Centaurea glastifolia (1), Echium angustifolium (1), Galega officinalis (1), Jurinella moschus (1), Vaccinium myrtillus (1), Vicia cracca (1).


Yuva parazitidir. Avrupa'daki konakçıları Bombus ruderatus (Fabricius) (Türkiye'de bulunmamaktadır) ve Bombus argillaceus (Scopoli) (Rasmont, 1988)'dır. B. maxillosus Türkiye'de en yaygın rastlanan ikinci yuva paraziti türdür. Yayılışı Türkiyeli konağı olan B. argillaceus ile uyuşmaktadır. Yükseklik (Rasmont & Flagothier 1996'ya göre): 900-2875 metre (48 örnek) %80'i 900 ve 1950 metre arasında olacak şekilde.
