1(3) Second recurrent vein present, running from the subdiscoidal to the cubital vein. The lower part of this vein, however, is mostly not developed in both sexes of Madacampsomeris romandi. T1 without a tubercle. T2 and 3 of female with subapical row of punctures bearing hairs. Male genitalia with cuspis volsellaris and lamina volsellaris completely separated.
2(5) Second recurrent vein running in a arch to the first recurrent vein or absent. T1 often with a tubercle. T2 and 3 of female without subapical row of punctures. Male genitalia with cuspis and lamina volsellaris united.
3(4) Three submarginal cells.

5 Two submarginal cells in most genera but three submarginal cells in the genera Ululanca and Voeltzkowana, two to three submarginal cells in the genera Hitfoidra and Mutilloscolia.
